There's a lot of it so here are some bullet points of major events.
• Anduin was born to Varian and Tiffin Wrynn. He's named for Anduin Lothar (the Lion of Stormwind) and King Llane (Anduin's grandfather).
• Tiffin Wrynn is killed during an attack on Stormwind when Anduin is very young.
• Varian Wrynn goes missing on the way to a diplomatic summit. Anduin is temporarily made King and is advised by Katrina Prestor and Bolvar Fordragon as Anduin is not even a teenager at this point.
• Varian returns and takes up the King mantle again.
• tl;dr Varian had been split in half and the personality issues stemmed from this. Anduin and the others realise Kartina Prestor is the dragon Onyxia. She takes Anduin hostage to bait Varian.
• Anduin is rescued by his father.
• Anduin participates in the Peace Summit that later takes place.
• Soon Anduin starts to realise he wants to follow a pacifist philosophy instead of being a warrior. He's allowed to spend time in other cities as a diplomat.
• Anduin is in Ironforge when he discovers his true calling to be a priest.
• He helps King Magni in Ironforge and sees the other turned into diamond. He's then held hostage by the new ruler until Varian rescues him again. He convinces Varian to not kill the new Ironforge ruler.
• Helps his father heal when Varian starts lashing out again.
• Anduin helps in Exodar, healing refugees and offering services and spends a lot of time with the naaru O'ros, learning to understand the Light.
• Heals his father after an attack by the Twilight's Hammer which then convinces Varian that priests aren't soft.
• Studies the Holy Light with Velen and the draenei.
• Anduin's flagship is shot down by the Horde when he's on a diplomatic mission. He's shipwrecked in the Jade forest and he ventures inland.
• He's then rescued but Anduin refuses to go home, using his mind control skill to escape from the agents sent to retrieve him.
• He's then captured by the Horde, but he slips away from them too, hitching a ride with some Panderen. He hears about the Crane Wind Order and he asks for an audience with Chi- Ji, a healing Celestial. He then gets to study under the disciples of Chi-Ji.
• Anduin reunites with his father who arrives in Pandaria and talks the man into taking the peaceful route to protect the place.
• Learns about the Divine Bell, something that would cause a lot of chaos when rung. He researches it more and finds there is a counter called the Harmonic Mallet.
• Anduin solves riddles and finds the pieces to get the Mallet put together before going to stop Garrosh from ringing the bell personally.
• Garrosh rings the bell, Anduin stops it after a moment. Garrosh destroys the bell in a fit of rage which collapses on Anduin and crushes him. He's then left for dead.
• Anduin is retrieved and spends a lot of time being healed. It's said the pain will never truly go away and is even now an indicator of danger.
• Anduin spends time recovering in Pandaria int the Tavern in the Mists. He meets Wrathion and discusses a lot of events with him whilst playing board games.
• After a quest chain, sees Wrathion take the heart of the Thunder King who then eats it. Anduin says he doesn't trust Wrathion and Wrathion replies that he's wise not to.
• Anduin is present during the trial of Garrosh Hellscream. Even though the other is responsible for atrocities, Anduin speaks to the other at his request. He even testifies that he believes people can change their ways and prevents Garrosh from eating poisoned food that Anduin had found out about moments prior.
• The trial goes to Hell due to interference from a group rescuing Garrosh and aided by Wrathion.
• The Burning Legion returns to Azeroth and Anduin stays in Stormwind as his father goes out to right. Varian is ultimately slain due to working with the Horde and the Horde having to suddenly retreat.
• Anduin becomes King, insisting there is a better way than revenge.
• He goes to where his father died, finding Shalamayne buried and realizing that he needs to accept his duties as King. He doesn't tell anyone of the vision of Varian he had seen then.
• The Burning Legion is defeated but the titan Sargeras throws a giant sword into the world, wounding it and bringing a new mineral Azerite to the surface. This ignites tensions as both Horde and Alliance are after it.
• Leads a sige on the Undercity to defeat Sylvanas after the other burns down Teldrassil. They get to her, but the banshee leaves Anduin and the others to be stuck in a collapsing room. They're teleported out by the archmage Jaina.
• Anduin speaks with a captured Saurfang and asks him why the other didn't kill him when he had the chance. Saurfang admits he had hoped Anduin would stop Sylvanas. Anduin walks out but not before leaving the cell door open.
• Gets a new battle ship from the Kul Tirans!!
• Anduin tries to help thwart an assassination plan by Sylvanas on Baine Bloodhoof.
• Now there's old gods trying to take over. Magni brings Wrathion to the Keep to offer assistance. It's the first time Anduin has seen the other since the trial of Garrosh and he punches the other in the face, blaming Wrathion for the fact the Legion happened and his father died.
• Reluctantly accepts the offer of help when Anduin sees a vision of Stormwind falling to darkness.
PERSONALITY:
Anduin Wrynn is the son of Varian Wrynn, a man who was known to be the most fearsome warrior in battle, to hold grudges that were legendary and someone who had the worst temper on them. Anduin, somehow, is nothing like his father despite being raised by the man.
The priest is first and foremost a peace seeker. Regardless of all the events happening within Anduin's life, he still yearn for peace in the world. He is not quick to jump into an all out war and often first looks for the more pacifist solution to problems that come up. He holds a lot of compassion for those around him and refuses to allow his father's anti-Horde bias influence him. In fact it was often Anduin calming his father down and talking him out of rash decisions when the other faction was involved. It's probably because of the amount of destruction and loss that Anduin has suffered that he wishes to avoid inflicting that on others where possible.
He's smart and somewhat knowledgeable, often eager to learn and going out of his way to do so when it's beneficial. Being a Stormwind diplomat meant he spent time in Ironforge to find his calling and then time in the Exodar to hone his skills and learn more about the Light. Anduin often knows what he wants and how to get it in that regard. The High King of the Alliance is also sensible and much calmer than his father was; it's rare for Anduin to fully lose his temper and it isn't often he raises his voice unless things are extremely dire (or if someone super unsavory walked in to his throne room).
Despite wearing heavy armour, Anduin is a priest. He knows it is his calling and prefers to heal wounds over inflicting them, understanding that to follow the Light is to do right in the world. If things are stressful he will often reflect and occasionally send the odd prayer if the need be and will also step back to try to look at things from other points of view.
One of the things people say is a problem is that Anduin wholeheartedly believes that people can change no matter how heinous they are. He watched his father change from an angry, frustrated and often violent man to someone much calmer, more diplomatic. He even believed that despite his crimes, Garrosh Hellscream could also change his ways. Nothing is truly set in stone and Anduin knows that anyone can be capable of good. That being said, more recently that thought process is being tested by Sylvanas. Anduin understands that she will not change and often laments the fact that whilst she is "in charge" that there will never truly be peace.
He'll fight to protect his people and is often at the forefront of those battles with Genn Greymane close by. Anduin will be there not just as a symbol to his people but to set the example. He knows he cannot lead from the back of the pack and will be up front making the strategies and executing them where he can, such as the attack on Lordaeron which almost claimed his life and that of others close to him.
Anduin can be stubborn (he is a Wrynn after all) and has been known to break protocol when he thinks it's needed. He made sure he wasn't taken back to Stormwind when the agents caught up with him, using his mind control powers to give them the slip. He also left and went to see where his father fell, not telling anyone he was going and just about giving Genn Greymane a heart attack when meeting him there.
Since Anduin is a new High King and still reeling from the death of his father he can sometimes feel overwhelmed by everything that is going on. He often wonders how his father even managed to do it and is still coming to terms with having to match up to the King his father was, despite Varian telling him otherwise. He does his best to try and be a King to his people first meaning that more personal things get left on the back burner. Anduin has barely even had time to grieve for his father as events in the game have consistently happened straight after the other. If it wasn't the Legion it was the Horde and so on. Regardless, Anduin would still give the Horde a chance if they requested peace and recently has Baine Bloodhoof (a horde tauren) in his throne room, showing that testament still holds true.
Anduin is still young and is doing his best for his people. Everything else can wait.
